Baby Milestones Month Discs

Hi! These baby milestone discs were so fun to make. I wanted to buy some on Etsy but couldn't find any for less than $40... So I went to the craft store and gathered my supplies! I actually made these 6 days before baby's birth!
I used wood discs and some acrylic paint and topped them with a vinyl decal. Here's the free link I used for the SVG file on the Denver Housewife's blog

Baby Burp Cloths!

Oh baby! Most crafting I did in this past year was all baby related with our little one arriving in July. Everyone told me I could never have enough burp cloths... So I went in my fabric stash and found flannel. I even got to repurpose some gently used receiving blankets from the thrift store. These were super easy to make. My husband and I just love these! The are super absorbent and cover pretty well. I ended making 20 and it's true, you can NEVER have enough!

Bird mobile

Hi there! I hope you're having a nice summer! I've been pretty busy with work and big life changes and now things seem to be settling down. I haven't been doing too many crafts lately but This will change in August! I have some fun projects lined up...Hooray!

I wanted to share this adorable Bird Mobile I made for my friend Jess, who is expecting a little girl VERY soon. Remember all those Homemade baby-shower gifts? Well here's another one to add to that set! It matches!

You'll need
❀ 1m of fabric (I used various little scraps)
  ❀ 1 spool thread
  ❀ stuffing
  ❀ small beads (eyes)
  ❀ 6" metal ring
❀ 3 m of ribbon to cover ring
  ❀ fishing line
  ❀ large button
  ❀ tacky glue

Directions
BIRDS: Cut your fabric using the pattern under here. I made 7 birds (2 perched on the ring and 5 hanging), but you can make as many as you like! Start by sewing a bead on each body (in the middle of the head) for each bird (2/bird). Sew the birds by lining up the belly with the lines on the body, right sides together. You can also add a little ribbon on the top of the bird to loop the fishing line later on. Leave a little opening so that you can turn them right side out and stuff them. Sew shut. Sew the wings (right sides together and flip, then sew shut) and either glue or sew onto each side of the bird.

MOBILE: cover the metal ring by wrapping it in ribbon. Glue in place. Tie 4 x16" pieces of fishing line to the ring and gather by weaving it through a large button and tie a knot. Glue or sew two birds onto the ring. Attach the 5 other birds using fishing line once again and tying them at different heights. Voila!

The Happy mommy unwrapping her mobile!

DIY Simple Baby Bibs

I made these simple baby bibs last week for my friend Jess! She's expecting soon and I got to make her some fun handmade goodies! i adore how tiny everything is and I especially LOVED shopping in the baby/kid section at my fabric store... Cuteness OVERLOAD! Here's how I made my simple baby bibs!

Materials
♥ crafting cotton i.e. broadcloth (plain)
♥ thin cotton flannel (patterned)
♥ coordinating thread
♥ sewing machine
♥ bib pattern

Instructions

Pin your pattern (I used the one from One Yard Wonders, but you can print this one) and cut the fabric for the front and the back of your bib.

Pin RIGHT sides together and sew along the edge. Make sure to leave an opening at the bottom of about 2" so that you can flip it right side out. Clip curves and turn right side out.

Press all along the edge and tuck in the opened bottom edge.  Sew all along the edge. Sew a button and make a button hole as well. You could alternately sew velcro or even a snap! Voilà!

I love baby fabrics... tiny elepohants and birds?! ADORABLE!
