Toilet Paper Roll Bats!

10:21 Natalie Karine 0 Comments

Boo! Did I scare you? Well these little creatures just might (although I find them cuter than scarier, but that's just me) Best part of this craft  It's recycled! To make these spooky winged creatures, we used toilet paper rolls! awesome! Wanna make one?

Materials:
      ☽ Toilet paper rolls
      ✩ Cardstock
      ☽ Paint & brushes
      ✩ White glue
      ☽ Goggly eyes
      ✩ Pastels or crayons

Instructions:
① Paint your toilet paper roll whichever color you would like your bat to be. ② Cut out some bat wings (you can also use the template at the bottom of the page) and color them with pastels, crayons or whatever you prefer. ③ When the paint is dry gently fold the top edge inward so that you have two bat ears and glue the wings on. ④ Cut some fangs on and glue them on, as well as eyes! You're done! Spooktacular!

Check out those fangs! AHHH!
All so different! I love when kids create!
Happy Halloween everyone! xo

Hi there! I've recently joined Pinterest, a kind of virtual bulletin board and found a real goldmine of inspiration and DIY projects! How wonderful is that?! So One of the AMAZING projects I found a little while ago was Cute Fabric Covered Magnets. I had most of the supplies and then took a trip my neighborhood Dollar Store and found little round fridge magnets for a whole $1. It's pretty easy-peasy!
Instructions: Simply cover buttons in fun fabric (button-covering kits can be purchased at fabric or craft stores and look like this) snip the back off with pliers and super-glue on a magnet! Hooray! Makes perfect little gifts too.....

  Materials:
     ♡ Round magnets
♡ super glue (i like goop)
     ♡ Pliers
     ♡ Scissors
     ♡ Fabric-cover button kit
     ♡ Scrap Fabric

Happy crafting! xo

Let them dry for a little while....
And voila! Awesome new fridge magnets!

Easy Fall Leaf Prints!

14:01 Natalie Karine 0 Comments

Fall is here along with its beautiful colourful leaves!
I love taking walks in nature and looking at this magical
time in nature! At school, we decided to gather freshly fallen
leaves (well the teachers did) and do some printmaking!
the kids ended up creating beautiful print and we even explored
the ideas of veins (you can see them so clearly in the prints!) with
a fun science experiment were we saw how veins help water travel
to the leaves, by changing the colour of celery leaves!

 Materials:

   ❦ Washable paint
   ❦ Sponges
❦ Pie tray or paper plate
   ❦ Leaves (not too dry/brittle!)
   ❦ White paper
   ❦ Newsprint

Instructions:

Sponge paint onto a leaf (not too thick!). Turn it over onto a piece of paper and gently place a piece of newsprint paper on top. Gently push rub to make a nice impression. Remove the piece of newsprint and carefully lift up the leaf. Voilà! You have a fancy leaf print. Now repeat as many times as you want and fill up your whole page!

Be careful when you lift up the leaf... Be sure not to smudge
the paint!
You can even mix up the colours and make multicolour
leaf prints!
So pretty! Perfect fall craft!
