Enchanted 3D Paper Garden

15:16 Natalie Karine 0 Comments

Look at this fun 3D paper craft! The artists I was working with decided to make an enchanted garden with fairies in it, but you could easily turn it into a garden with hidden creepy crawlers as well! Wanna make one?

You'll need
   ❉ empty milk carton
   ❉  construction paper
   ❉ pipe cleaners
   ❉ tissue paper
   ❉ artificial flowers (optional)
   ❉ scissors
Step 1: cut the top off a juice or milk carton. Step 2: Cover it with green paper (like you're wrapping a gift)
Step 3: Fold the paper on the bottom but leave about 4 inches sticking up from the top. Step 4: Cut the paper sticking out  into strips, to look like grass
❉ glue & hot glue gun
Step 5: Curl the paper grass (like you would ribbon with
scissors). You can also add more so that it looks fuller.

Step 6: Add flowers on pipe cleaner stems. You can use
artificial ones or make them from tissue paper using this
tutorial. Tape them inside the box.
We even made little clothespin fairies, inspired from this

Easy DIY Bird Mobile!

06:37 Natalie Karine 0 Comments

Beautiful birds! For a whole afternoon last week, we drew beautiful & colorful birds with pastels, then hung them in a mobile to look like they are always flying! Perfect for a child's bedroom! Wanna make one?

Materials:
   ✶ cardstock or printable sheet
   ✶ pastels or crayons
   ✶ scissors
   ✶ fishing wire or string
✶ 2 sticks (bamboo or shish kabob)
   ✶ pipe cleaner
   ✶ hole puncher

What you need top do:Make the birds by drawing some on heavy paper or printing the template sheet down below. Draw both sides so that when they spin, it'll be even more colourful! You can make 4... or even 12! ② Hang the birds by punching a hole and attaching a piece of fishing wire to them. Next, make the wooden X by taking your two sticks and securing them with a pipe cleaner that you'll wrap in the middle. hang 1-2 birds on each "section" of the X. ③ Now pick a good ceiling spot and hang your mobile!

So many pretty birds! Make sure to color both sides!
Use fishing wire to hang the birds, so that it looks like
they are flying!
This one has a penguin... Even though they don't fly!

Fancy Painted Rocks

Rock painting!
This was one of my FAVORITE crafts to do when i was a kid. I would go to my grandma's on Nipissing Lake and paint rocks with my cousins all day long! So much fun! Check out the ones I did with my two little artists last week... Unicorns, rats (they have a pet rat!), rainbows and chihuahuas!

What you need:
   ♥ Rocks
   ♥ Acrylic paint
   ♥ Paintbrushes
♥ Permanent marker (paint markers work the best)
Simply draw whatever you want with a permanent marker (we used a Sharpie paint marker) and then fill in with paint!
Let the creativity flow!
My favorite...Unicorn!

Aquarium in a Box!

21:00 Natalie Karine 0 Comments

Hi there! I wanted to share this adorable craft with you... made from a recycled cardboard box (Love using recycled materials !) I've been working with two awesome little artists this past week and we've done AMAZING projects! Hurray! We spent maybe 4 hours working on this fun aquarium craft. You can create a magical underwater world with fish, whales, squids, seahorses, crabs.... whatever you want with an empty box and a couple supplies!

Materials:
     ✰Cardboard box
✰Various papers (wrapping paper, construction paper)
     ✰Glue gun & regular glue
     ✰Markers or crayons
     ✰Scissors
     ✰Tape
✰Fun objects: oyster shells, rocks, beads, goggly eyes, etc.

Start by pasting blue paper inside the box to make the water!
Next, start making all sorts of creatures!
Many of them are attached with pipe cleaners, so that they
"pop out"! We glued a pipe cleaner to the back of a creature
and poked it through one of the sides of the box (secure
it with tape)
Look at this little crab! We even added rocks we found in
the backyard!
The Sea theme continued later on with watercolours!
